Introduction

Auditing is the process via which a third party can validate the operations of a transaction server. In order for this to occur, the transaction server must broadcast all relevant data to the auditors.

Auditors can not require transactions servers to publish this data, of course, but a transaction server can not hide a failure to release auditing data, nor can it hide tampering with the data since each receipt, notice, or message broadcast by the transaction server is added to a serialized hash chain.
